We understand that purchasing your first puppy can be a difficult task, but we are  here to help you. We’ve added some common questions to ask when choosing the right puppy… and the right breeder.

Internet fraud is on the rise, so we’ve also included some tips to help protect yourself when buying online. Arm yourself with information and buy with confidence!

Questions to ask when choosing a puppy:

1. What grooming requirements are there with this breed?
2. What type of exercise does this breed require?
3. Are there any common health problems associated with this breed?
4. How many litters do you have per year?
5. What type of food do you feed your dogs?
6. Do the puppies have any type of socialization prior to being sent to their new home?
7. Do the puppies have any type of training prior to being sent to their new home?
8. What guarantees do you offer with your puppies?

How to protect yourself when buying online:

1. Email may be the initial form of contact when locating us through the site. This should not be the only form of contact. Once you have your initial questions answered and feel you want to move forward with the purchase of the puppy, ask for a phone number to talk to us.
2. Before you send your money, make sure the payment details are coming from contact@sunshinemaincoonheaven.com
3. Once you have decided to make the purchase, ensure that you have a clearly defined contract. The contract should state what dog you are going to receive, what registration and the time frame to receive the registration papers, what type of health guarantee comes with the dog and what is the process of reimbursement and/or return if the dog is sick.
4. Save a copy of the contract along with a printout of the listing for your records.

Please note: we do not act as an escrow service. In some cases, we might not hold funds until you receive your puppy. If any Breeder tells you differently, report them to us at scamalert@sunshinemaincoonheaven.com.      Our staffs will not refer you to any specific breeder. We offer guarantees, and pre-screen all advertisements on the site. If you are unsure about a specific communication and you feel it to be a potential scam, please feel free to forward us the communication and we will investigate.

We have gotten several reports about people trying to fake their identities and claiming to be our staff to extort money from pet lovers and promising to deliver pets to them.  Please kindly note that all transaction emails must come from contact@sunshinemaincoonheaven.com.    Please disregard any communication that does not come from the above email.
